Arturo Morales

Arturo Morales After nearly 40 years of firefighting, Chief Arturo (Art) Morales announced his retirement from the Castle Rock Fire and Rescue Department as of May 9, 2018.

Chief Morales was appointed Castle Rock Fire Chief in March 2003 and oversaw fire and rescue service within the Town's 66-square-mile area, including the Town of Castle Rock and the Castle Rock Fire Protection District in Douglas County.

Prior to joining the Town, Chief Morales worked with the Thornton Fire Department where, in 1979, he was hired as a firefighter. He spent 23 years there working his way to firefighter paramedic, public education specialist, fire captain, emergency manager for Y2K, battalion chief, assistant
chief and for his last three years there he was deputy fire chief.

Castle Rock's Deputy Fire Chief Norris Croom will step in as Interim Fire Chief as the Town begins a nationwide search to replace Chief Morales.
