  • Background
From Greeley, Colorado, George enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1988 as a rifleman and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. Paying his way through college on the G.I. Bill, he earned his bachelor's degree in history at the University of Northern Colorado. After college, George returned to active duty, serving as an officer with the Army's 25th Infantry Division until 1997.

George and his wife moved to Castle Rock in 1998, first settling in The Meadows before moving to their current home in Crystal Valley Ranch in 2007. George has worked as a software project manager and software business consultant since 1999. He's an Arrow Electronics alumni and entrepreneur who has run his own software consulting business from 2004 to 2016. He is currently employed by FloWorks International, a distributor of pipe, flanges, fittings and valves on three continents.

He is the first Castle Rock Town Councilmember elected from the Crystal Valley Ranch neighborhood.

The Teals have two children – a daughter who is a PhD candidate (a historian, like her dad) and a son in high school. They have been active parents in the Dolphins and Cougars youth sports programs.

George is also an assistant Scoutmaster with Castle Rock’s Troop 780; an NRA-certified firearms instructor with the Boy Scouts of America shooting sports program; and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. As a member of Gov. John Hickenlooper’s transition team, George served on the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee. He is also active with the Douglas County Republicans as a Precinct Leader.

Said Councilman Teal: “I’m determined to faithfully represent my neighbors in the Sixth District. I won’t let them down.”
