Thank you for your feedback!
In October 2019, we asked you to talk transit with us. Your feedback was invaluable in helping our research and determining which type of transit service should be analyzed further. Here's a brief update on where we are at with the study now.
The three practical transit options identified for the next phase of the study are:
- Point to point on-demand service – similar to the current taxi voucher services operated by the Town, it is intended to serve vulnerable populations
- First/last mile service – this service could include rides to the Ridgegate RTD station and address most of the transit need categories
- Microtransit – this service would primarily provide rides within Town and meet three of the four transit needs (serve vulnerable populations, provide regional connectivity, enhance economic sustainability, support population growth)
Rough costs will be developed for each option. At this time, no funding sources have been identified for implementation but the findings of the overall effort will be used to inform future conversations with regard to transit in Castle Rock.
