Get your winter on at WinterFest this Saturday

In Colorado, cold weather gives us something to celebrate. Here’s what you need to know about WinterFest this Saturday, Dec. 3:

  • Activities run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Festival Park, including ice carving, saying “so long” to 2016 with a Bye Bye Bonfire, the Starlight Lounge, a 5K and the Cold War Classic Cyclocross race.
  • The Cold War Classic has heats beginning at 9:30 a.m., and the WinterFest 5K begins at 11 a.m.
  • Events are free, except for the two races.
  • Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Thanks to Grist Brewery for being our beverage sponsor.
  • Parking is available at Town Hall and along Downtown streets. Please note Second Street will be closed for the event.

Season of the Star events, presented by the Promenade at Castle Rock
The fun doesn’t stop there. Ongoing holiday festivities happen every Saturday through New Year’s Eve as part of the second annual Season of the Star event series, presented by the Promenade at Castle Rock. Dress warmly and get the family Downtown for these fun events and activities:

  • Dec. 10: Storytellers and S’mores, 2-5 p.m., Festival Park
  • Dec. 17: Castle Rock Winter Express, 2-5 p.m., Festival Park
  • Dec. 24: Christmas Eve Candlelight Services, 4-5 p.m., Festival Park
  • Dec. 31: Castle Rockin’ New Year’s Eve, 5-8 p.m., Festival Park

More fun and festivities
During each of these events, you can also take selfies with Santa at the Elf House Experience, shop local vendors at the Kris Kringle Market, or take a carriage ride through picturesque Downtown Castle Rock. Carriage rides will only be available at the WinterFest, Storytellers and S’mores and Castle Rock Winter Express events.
