It is important to keep our existing infrastructure operating in an efficient manner. During this summer months, this helps ensure peak water demands can be met without resorting to curtailment measures due to well failures. In order to do this, the Water Resources Division has established a yearly rehabilitation and equipment replacement program for priority deep Denver Basin wells. The formalized program helps mitigate emergency well services due to pumping equipment failure. Wells showing declines in production or wells using older pumping equipment will be included in the rehabilitation program.
In 2021, work will take place on wells in the Meadows and Founders neighborhoods. The following wells are identified:
The combined daily production from the wells is 2.5 million gallons per day.
In order to have the rehabs completed prior to demand season this summer, Castle Rock Water has awarded the construction contract to two contractors: Applied Ingenuity, LLC and Colorado Pump Service & Supply Co.
Project cost: $1.09 million
March – June 2021
Construction can occur Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
There will be no water service disruption during construction; however, for safety, residents should expect construction traffic and potential lane closures.
