Season of the Star
The holidays are a special time of year in Castle Rock, and it all begins with Starlighting. The Season of the Star is a celebration of lights and the beauty of our Town during the winter. Keep your family in the holiday spirit with these family-friendly activities held throughout Town.
Starlighting
Saturday, Nov. 21, 2-6 p.m.
Castle Rock Adventist Hospital (Briscoe/Alexander parking lots), PSM Park Amphitheater, and the Douglas County Fairgrounds Outdoor Arena
Due to the COVID19 pandemic, the 2020 Starlighting ceremony will be live streamed. There will be three stage locations where it can be viewed publicly with limited capacity. All public locations have a fabulous view of The Rock. As one of Castle Rock Chamber's signature events, each location will include hot chocolate / adult beverage booths, food trucks, non-profit booths, strolling entertainers and live entertainment.

Rink at the Rock Opening
Saturday, Nov 21, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
414 Perry Street
Rink at the Rock, Castle Rock's Downtown community recreational skating rink, opens the day of Starlighting and runs through President's Day. Check the Rink at the Rock website for more information, normal operating hours and fees.
Festival Park Starlight Market
Kick off your holiday shopping with Castle Rock's premier craft and food market. Shop from more then 30 vendors including unique crafts, specialty items, roasted chestnuts, mulled wine and more. Get that impossible to shop for person a gift while enjoying the 30-foot Christmas tree, hot cocoa and holiday music.

Saturday, Dec. 5, 5 p.m. - National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Saturday, Dec. 12, 5 p.m. - Elf
Event Pad at Philip S. Miller Park
Spend a much needed fun night out while enjoying the nostalgia of a drive-in movie. Watch the hilarious Griswold family's antics in the National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Saturday, Dec. 5. Or, get to know the beloved Buddy the Elf on a 30-foot screen in Elf Saturday, Dec. 12. There will be food trucks available. Buddy the Elf and The Grinch will be running around to take pics with and entertain the kids. The event is free, but does require preregistration due to limited capacity.
Registration opens Monday, Nov. 16.
*Please note National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is rated PG-13 for occasional profanity. Elf is rated PG for mild rude humor and language.
Holiday Light Show
Dec. 3 through 19, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Philip S. Miller Park
Drive through or take a walk through Philip S. Miller Park and enjoy some added holiday decorations to the already beautifully lit park. A food truck serving goodies and hot chocolate will be available to complete a night of family photo ops and a celebration of socially distanced community spirit and good cheer.
