Tri the Rock

It's waiting for you...all you have to do is try! 

Come for a day of fun, food prizes and sports. This annual youth triathlon is for young athletes ages 5 to 14. 

From kids who have never even heard of a triathlon to seasoned competitive triathletes, Tri the Rock encourages kids to get out and give it a TRI.

Pre-race packet pick-up

  • Can’t make it to pre-race packet pick-up? No problem. Simply visit the packet pick-up table on race day. Be sure to arrive early to allow plenty of time for your packet pick-up on race day. 
Race distances

Age Divisions

Tri the Rock now competes based on the athlete's age as of RACE DAY. Be sure to register accordingly.

5-6 years

  • 25-meter swim (one pool length)
  • 1-kilometer bike ride (one lap around Butterfield Park) - course map
  • 500-meter run - course map
  • Please note: check-in for this age group does not begin until 10:30 a.m.

7-8 years and 9-10 years 

  • 50-meter swim (two pool lengths, down and back)
  • 4-kilometer bike ride - course map
  • 1-kilometer run - course map

11-12 years and 13-14 years 

  • 100-meter swim (four pool lengths, down and back twice)
  • 8-kilometer bike ride - course map
  • 2-kilometer run - course map

Tri the Rock Give Back Program

Tri the Rock encourages kids to get active and try something new. To that end, a portion of every registration is donated back to each participants school or tri-club. Be sure to indicate your school or club during registration. And remember, the school with the most participants will get the honor of displaying the Tri the Rock trophy for the next year!

Clear Sky Elementary School narrowly claimed the victory for the fourth year in the row, with Aspen View Academy running close behind. Through the Give-Back Program, Clear Sky Elementary earned $430 for their physical education program. Can your school claim the 2017 trophy?
